Falk Library has a small but growing group of materials that constitutes its Special Collections. The materials include archival collections of private and personal papers of noted individuals, published materials that relate to HSLS people and activities, and similar items. The library does not actively collect in this area but will accept donations if they fit within the library's collection policy. The Library is beginning to collect both newly-published and older books relating to the University of Pittsburgh health sciences and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). These may include biographies and other texts by or about noted health science faculty and histories that relate to Pitt and UPMC. They may be found in PITTCat for the Health Sciences (Catalog). Information About the Collections The links below are to finding aids for each collection. [A finding aid is a document that describes the content of each collection; it may be brief or very extensive, depending on the collection.]
Some of the finding aids are not yet available on the Web. For further information, please contact Collections and Technical Services at techserv@pitt.edu or 412-648-2049. |
