WPIC Library Videotape Collection Now Searchable in PITTCat
The Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) Library videotape collection is now searchable on PITTCat, the University of Pittsburgh online library catalog. Every PITTCat record contains a short synopsis describing the content of each tape, information on intended audience, duration, and subject headings. Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC)library has one of the most comprehensive mental health Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC)library, videorecordings collection collections in the United States. The collection contains more than 800 commercially acquired videorecordings collection. These carefully selected tapes cover a wide array of topics ranging from Board reviews for psychiatrists, to aspects of mental health appropriate for students and researchers. The WPIC collection also includes videos suitable for consumers of mental health services and their families. Age appropriate audiences for videotapes range from toddlers to the elderly. Items from the WPIC Library videotape collection may be viewed in the library or borrowed by faculty, students and staff affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh, or the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The borrowing period is 7 days. Because videotapes are often booked in advance, a late fee of $5.00 per videotape per day is strictly enforced on every overdue item. WPIC Library welcomes recommendations for the purchase of specific videotape titles, or suggestions for collection development in mental health-related subject areas.
