New Video Viewing Equipment Available at WPIC LibraryWestern Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) library is pleased to announce that new video viewing equipment has been installed in the Benedum Audiovisual Area. The Library’s seven video carrels are equipped with a variety of screening tools including a combination flat color television/VCR/DVD player, individual VHS and SVHS VCRs, DVD players, and headphones. One carrel contains a fast speed audiotape duplicator, a tape recorder, a slide projector, and a light board for organizing slides. 
The new machines complement the Library’s extensive mental health videorecordings collection, which includes more than 800 tapes. All WPIC videos have been recently added to PITTCat, making it simple to locate tapes on specific topics. PITTCat records include useful information to assist with your selection, such as a brief synopsis, intended audience, video length, and subject headings, in addition to title and author. For assistance on how to limit your PITTCat search to locate only videos in the WPIC collection, call the reference desk at 412-624-1919, or follow the steps provided at <www.hsls.pitt.edu/about/libraries/wpic/vidsearch.html>. While in the Library, you can view videos in the carrels and try out the new equipment, or you can borrow videos for a seven-day period. Videos can also be reserved in advance for specific dates by calling 412-624-2378.
