STAFF NEWS

Laurie W. Davidson, library specialist at the Falk Library reference desk, received a Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2003.

Deborah Downey, library specialist at UPMC Shadyside libraries, was elected Secretary of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Medical Library Association.

Jonathon Erlen, history of medicine librarian, was appointed to the Education Committee of the American Association for the History of Medicine and to the Publications Committee for the Archivists and Librarians in the History of the Health Sciences.

Linda Hartman, reference librarian, has been re-elected to the Community Relations Committee of the University of Pittsburgh Senate.

Dr. Erlen reviewed four books in the American Reference Book Annual, 2003: Reproductive Rights and Technology, HIV and AIDS: A Global View, Transplantation Sourcebook, and with Amy Gregg, reference librarian, reviewed The Cancer Handbook. Dr. Erlen also served as contributing editor for ISIS Current Bibliography 2002.
