New Travel Medicine Guide

Many health-related concerns confront travelers as they embark on trips for pleasure and business. Among these concerns are disease outbreaks on cruise ships, international travel advisories, and airport security issues confronting individuals traveling with a disability, medical condition, or with medical supplies and equipment. The HSLS Travel Medicine guide <www.hsls.pitt.edu/guides/internet/travel> contains links to resources that

  • assist travelers with trip preparation,
  • provide clinicians with destination specific vaccination requirements,
  • offer advice to those traveling with a medical condition.

Resources include information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, United States Department of Homeland Security, Aerospace Medical Association, Aviation Health Institute, American Diabetes Association and the American Society for Health-System Pharmacists.
