A Video News Show for Health Professionals

FDA Patient Safety News, a monthly video/Web news show aimed at health care personnel, is available on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Web site <www.fda.gov/psn>. Each show features information on new drugs, biologics and medical devices, FDA safety notifications and product recalls, and tips on preventing medical errors. The November 2004 Webcast includes, among other topics, information on a new drug for diabetic peripheral neuropathy, a warning on thromboembolic events with Avastin, and a caution on ethyl chloride flammability.

The news broadcast format can be viewed using the free RealPlayer or the free Windows Media Player. In addition to viewing Webcasts online, you can download video, email, print, and save more than 200 current and past stories. Links to FDA approval documentation and news releases regarding each topic are also available from the site.
