Computer Equipment Upgrades at UPMC Shadyside Libraries
Exciting Computer upgrades are happening in the HSLS libraries at UPMC Shadyside libraries! Dell Dimension 4550 PCs with Pentium 4 processors have replaced the older Compaq machines. New hardware has also been added, including two Epson 4180 scanners for text, slide and image scanning, CD-RW/DVD drives, and Zip 250 drives for easy storage and transportation of large files. New productivity software includes the full Microsoft Office 2003 Suite, Endnote 8.0, Acrobat 7.0 and Adobe Photoshop.
With the new equipment and software comes a new procedure: UPMC logins will now be required to use computers in the libraries. Those without valid accounts should see their unit manager for directions on how to acquire an account.
