Michael Musser is the new circulation specialist at WPIC Library. Musser began at HSLS as a library page.
KUDOS
HSLS staff and faculty raised money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by participating in the 12th annual Lee National Denim Day. In exchange for a cash donation, staff, and faculty members were permitted to wear blue jeans to work on October 5, 2007.
PRESENTATIONS
Charles B. Wessel, coordinator of affiliated hospital services, presented his continuing education course, Number, Number, Who's Got the Number, or Who's Counting?: Health Statistics Sources, at the 2007 Conference of the North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries, a regional chapter of the Medical Library Association at Woodstock, Vt., on October 27, 2007.
John Erlen, history of medicine librarian, was a guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Erlen presented "Rare Books and Their Place in History of Medicine Studies”, "History of Medicine Resources on the WWW", and "Alternative Medicine in the United States: Past, Present, and Future" to fourth year medical students on October 11, 2007.
