Registering for a PHIA Account

Do you need a PHIA account?

A PHIA account is only needed if you want to borrow books from the libraries at the University of Pittsburgh.

To register for a PHIA account:

1. Print out the form, PHIA Application for HSLS Library Services
2. Fill out the form, and photocopy your ACHD Employee ID.  If you do not have an employee ID, a letter from your supervisor on ACHD letterhead saying you qualify for access to the service can substitute.
3. Submit the form either:
   • Through the PHIA contact person for your program. The contact person will fax in your form and a copy of your ID. 
   • By submitting it in person in Falk Library.  You must bring your employee ID with you.
4. HSLS will mail an HSLS/PHIA borrowing card to your home address.
