The Computer & Media Center (CMC) provides computer and media services to the health sciences community of the University of Pittsburgh. The CMC Computer Lab is on the second floor of Falk Library (take the stairs from the first floor of the library and make a left). In the lab, patrons can access the Internet with a University Computing Account; access Microsoft Office and other software; use scanners and video converters; and print articles, assignments, and other documents. The staff at the CMC's Main Desk assists users with the computer lab resources and circulates CMC equipment. You can borrow laptops, iPads, Xoom tablets, headphones, and USB flash drives with your Pitt ID. The policies on borrowing these items vary, so please refer to the CMC Policy page. The CMC staff can also help patrons find and view the DVDs and CD-ROMs in Falk Library's collection. The CMC also oversees small group study rooms, located on the second floor of the library. Groups of 2-8 people can hold group discussions and display a laptop screen for the group to see on a plasma screen. You may book a group study room online by using a University Computing Account. For further information, call the CMC Main Desk at 412-648-9109. CMC news and updates can be found on the PittHSLS Facebook page. | |
