• All HSLS classes are open to faculty, students and staff of the schools of the health sciences at the University of Pittsburgh and medical staff and other employees of UPMC.

  • All classes are offered free of charge.

  • No registration is required. Seating for classes is first-come, first-served until the class is full.

  • Most classes require previous experience using Microsoft Windows and familiarity with Web browsers such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.

  • AMA Category 2 CME credits are offered for many classes. Individual class descriptions identify those classes offering this credit. Physicians should maintain records of attendance, claiming one hour of credit for each hour of course participation. The AMA Physician’s Recognition Award permits up to 30 hours of the 50 hours required annually to be earned in Category 2 activities.

  • Other instructional services are available if these classes don’t meet your needs. Special classes can be designed for specific audiences and one-on-one information consultations with HSLS librarians are available by appointment.
