HSLS provides access to dozens of databases that can help identify research literature in many disciplines. Reference librarians have expertise in searching these databases and are available to assist you in your searches or to conduct professional-level searches when it is important to be sure your search is accurate and comprehensive.

Search HSLS Databases

Faculty, staff, and students of the six schools of the health sciences of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC may conduct their own searches of research literature databases to identify and locate journal articles, books, and other publications.

For assistance in choosing the appropriate database for a search or in designing or validating your search strategy, consult a reference librarian. 

Request an Expert Search from HSLS Librarians

HSLS reference librarians are trained to analyze complex questions and formulate expert search strategies. They are available to conduct professional-level searches at the request of the user.  This service is particularly useful when you require a comprehensive literature review or when you need to be sure you are getting the best results on your topic.
