Collection Services
If PITTCat for the Health Sciences indicates the only available location of a book or journal is in "History of Medicine (Closed Stacks)," "Falk Library Closed Stacks," or "HSLS Storage":
Pitt users affiliated with one of the schools of the health sciences may:
- Request a free article or chapter photocopy, or an entire book using the HSLS Document Delivery ordering system
Pitt users not affiliated with the schools of the health sciences may:
- Request through the University Library System (ULS)
Outside users (not Pitt) may:
- Request to have materials marked "History of Medicine (Closed Stacks)" or "Falk Library Closed Stacks" retrieved at no charge. Please contact the Falk Library Main Desk at 412-648-8866. These items may not leave the library. Any photocopies must be made by the requestor.
- Outside users may not request items marked "HSLS Storage." Such items will have to be requested through the Interlibrary Loan Service of the user's institution or public library.
