In circle woman seated, half to left, with right breast bare and infant in lap; in a curve at left and right, MIDWIFERY & NURSING.; on raised band around, at top, between dot like markings, DR. STUART (outward) and below, 39 MAXWELL STREET GLASGOW (inward).

Reverse

Two men seated in chairs facing each other, the doctor feeling pulse of patient; in field above heads, HONOUR; on raised band around from lower left, PRIVATE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT, and at bottom, 1841; all incused.
