Lead Exhibit at Falk Library

March 26, 2024

Through March 22 visit the national exhibit, This Lead is Killing Us: A History of Citizens Fighting Lead Poisoning in Their Communities, on display at Falk Library. The exhibit features six banner posters, historical books, and a collection of digital resources.

Join HSLS on February 20 at 2 p.m. at the School of Public Health Room 1155 for a Panel Q&A event being held in conjunction with the exhibit.

Spring Holiday Closure

March 18, 2024

Falk Library will be closed on Friday, March 15, for the Pitt Spring Holiday. The closure will begin on Thursday, March 14, at 10 p.m. Normal hours will resume on Saturday, March 16.

Ask a Librarian requests received from Thursday, March 14 at 5 p.m. through Sunday, March 17, that require a librarian response will be addressed on Monday, March 18.

Ovid Legacy Interface to Retire on March 27

On March 27, 2024, the Ovid legacy interface is set to retire. The new interface has been the default when visiting Ovid for some time now, so many users will already be familiar with the new look and features. After March 27, users will no longer have the option to revert back to the legacy Ovid interface. Learn more about the changes to the Ovid interface.

Falk Library Closure on Feb 28

The library will be closed on Wednesday, February 28, for staff development. The closure will begin at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27. Normal hours will resume on Thursday, February 29.

Ask a Librarian requests received from Tuesday, February 27, at 5 p.m. through Wednesday, February 28, that require a librarian response will be addressed on Thursday, February 29.

We have just launched Learn @ HSLS, a new way for you to find learning opportunities at HSLS. This new page is listed on the homepage under Services.

Learn @ HSLS includes:

  1. HSLS live classes – the classes and workshops you already know and love, taught by HSLS instructors, either on Zoom or in person;
  2. HSLS self-paced learning modules – online lessons, created by HSLS instructors, that you can complete anytime and anywhere that is convenient for you;
  3. Third-party learning links – learning options taught by the rest of the world, recommended by HSLS instructors.

Jan 19 Event Rescheduled

The misinformation escape room originally scheduled for Friday, January 19, has been rescheduled for Friday, February 2 at 11 a.m. Learn more about this event.

Falk Library Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

January 16, 2024

HSLS will close at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan 14, and remain closed through Monday, Jan 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan 16.

Ask a Librarian questions or requests received on Monday, Jan 15, will be addressed on Tuesday, Jan 16.

HSLS digital resources are still available when the library is closed.
