Poxvirus Bioinformatics Resource Center: a comprehensive Poxviridae informational and analytical resource

What you can do:
Search and analyze genetic information of the Poxviridae family of viruses.
Highlights:
  • The Center provides a relational database that supports data storage of poxvirus genomic sequences, and annotation and analysis of poxvirus genes; web-based data mining and sequence analysis tools; software for analysis of complete genomes; a repository of poxvirus species and strains (at ATCC); and a discussion forum.
  • It is also aimed at facilitating the development of novel antiviral therapies and vaccines against human orthopoxvirus infections as well as approaches for environmental detection of virions and the rapid diagnosis of disease.
  • The 2005 release consists of over 35 complete genomic sequences of various genera, species and strains of viruses from the Poxviridae family.
Keywords:
  • poxvirus genomic data warehouse
  • human orthopoxvirus
  • orthopoxvirus infections
  • poxvirus genomes
