Identification of patterns in biological sequences at the ALGGEN server -- PROMO and MALGEN

What you can do:
Predict of transcription factor binding sites or visualize sequence correspondences among long DNA sequences.
Highlights:
  • PROMO is a virtual laboratory for the identification of putative transcription factor binding sites (TFBS) in DNA sequences from a species or groups of species of interest. TFBS defined in the TRANSFAC database are used to construct specific binding site weight matrices for TFBS prediction.
  • MALGEN is a tool that pictures a graphic showing the skeleton of a multi-alignment. It is based on an algorithm that compares two genomes whose performance depends mainly on the first genome. For this reason the shortest sequence should be submitted before.
