COMPASS server for remote homology inference

What you can do:
Construct local alignments and detect homology based on the comparison of multiple sequence alignments
Highlights:
  • COMPASS is a profile-based method for the detection of remote sequence similarity and the prediction of protein structure.
  • The server features three major developments: (i) improved statistical accuracy; (ii) increased speed from parallel implementation; and (iii) new functional features facilitating structure prediction.
  • These features include visualization tools that allow the user to quickly and effectively analyze specific local structural region predictions suggested by COMPASS alignments.
Keywords:
  • sequence alignment
  • sequence homology
  • MSA
  • Multiple sequence alignment
  • protein structure-functional prediction
