COMBREX -- COMputational BRidge to EXperiments

What you can do:
Produce functional annotations of new bacterial and archaeal genomes.
Highlights:
  • COMBREX consists of a database of functional predictions produced by computational biologists and a mechanism for experimental biochemists to bid for the validation of those predictions.
  • It contains an evolving database of experimentally determined and computationally predicted functions for more than two million microbial genes.
  • It aims to be a collaborative project to improve genome annotation in which computational biologists and biochemists join forces to predict the function of genes in bacteria and archaea and test the predictions experimentally.
Keywords:
  • bacterial genome
  • archaeal genome
  • functional annotation
  • computational biology
  • gene function
