  • Carrie Iwema, Coordinator for Basic Science Research Support, virtually presented “All Things Preprints: An Introduction” at the Medical Library Association’s Virtual Scholarly Communication Caucus Shop Talk Session #2 on October 28, 2021, and “Making Sense of Basic Science: A Reflection on Lab Culture” at the Basic Science Caucus on November 4, 2021.

  • Gosia Fort, Head of Digital Resource Development, and Young Min Kim, School of Computing and Information Partners Program student, presented the exhibit “Beyond the Practice of Medicine–Selection of Medical Medals from the HSLS Collection” at the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists 2021 Fall Convention in Monroeville, PA, on October 28-30, 2021. The exhibit won the People’s Choice Award. The exhibit, with minor modifications, will be on display in the Falk Library lobby until January 2022.

  • Tess Wilson, TEC Program Manager, presented “Data Zines: A Hands-On Approach to Community Curiosities,” as a panelist on the ACRL Data Literacy Cookbook Panel on October 19, 2021. The virtual panel was hosted by the ACRL DSS Numeric & Geospatial Data Services Discussion Group and the editors of the forthcoming ACRL Data Literacy Cookbook.

  • Helenmary Sheridan, Data Services Librarian, presented a lightning talk at the Data Curation Network’s All-Hands Meeting on June 24. The lightning talk was based on the Neuroimaging DICOM and NIfTI Data Curation Primer she co-authored with the DCN.

  • Helena VonVille, Research and Instruction Librarian, virtually presented “Overview of the Systematic Review Process” to the Veterans Affairs Quality Scholars (VAQS) on May 21, 2021; over 80 scholars participated in the presentation. The VA Quality Scholars program consists of 11 sites across the United States, as well as an affiliate site in Toronto, Canada.

Milliner also presented "Beyond an Apple a Day: Providing Consumer Health Information at Your Library" and "Activate, Collaborate, Educate: Health Outreach and Programming in Your Community" for the Western New York Library Resources Council in October 2018 and conducted training for public libraries in counties in Northern Pennsylvania for their professional development day.
